ABSTRAK

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of moral and character decline among the younger generation, particularly in Banjarbaru City, characterized by the rise of brawls, free association, and drug abuse. As a preventive measure, formal educational institutions such as Private Islamic Elementary Schools implement worship habituation to internalize character values from an early age. This study aims to identify the types of worship habituation, analyze the implementation process (planning, execution, evaluation), and explore its implications for student character formation. The research method used is a qualitative approach with field research. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation at three research locations: SD Muhammadiyah Hajjah Nuriyah, SD Ma’rifah Ashfia, and SD Al-Halaby Islamic School. The research subjects include principals, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers, homeroom teachers, and 3rd-4th grade students. The results show that: (1) The types of worship habituation include daily activities (Dhuha prayer, Quranic recitation, dhikr), weekly activities (Friday prayer, short surah recitation), and annual events (PHBI). (2) The implementation process is carried out through structured management with teachers as role models (uswatun hasanah) and supported by a hierarchical monitoring system using monitoring books and CCTV technology. (3) The implications of this habituation are the formation of religious character, discipline, responsibility, honesty, politeness (adab), independence, and increased social empathy among students
